So I’m just sitting here drinking my coffee and I remembered that I have this blog. My time on SL has been interesting – from gossip sites to fb wars to fantastic times with friends and some of the nicest people… it’s been a trip for sure!

I’m happy I joined three years ago, even if some of the time I’ve been here has been rough. Joining SL FB really helped a lot – with meeting people and knowing where stuff is. Just remember though that FB reserves the right to deactivate your account if you aren’t using a gov’t name.

What’s been going on with me? I’m thinking about skipping my yearly attempt at starting a store since I have a lot of other things going on lol but I WILL DO IT AT SOME POINT.

Stressing out a bit over the build for our rez day party on the 26th + getting the Lilith Moon Fest line-up nailed down. And so much Halloween will be coming up! Fall/Halloween on SL is so fun – even if I’m not a huge fan of the blood and gore. We’re excited to be putting on a Zombie Prom at LD end of October for Pen’s rez day! So that should be fun.

I did get these AMAZING Burgerstocks at Anthem yesterday – and I’m never taking them off. ever. So that’s exciting. Other than that – the YT show is going pretty well, I think not editing and also streaming on FB is the key there. It’s a lot easier to post videos if I’m not worried about them. But yeah, burger. shoes.

If you miss them at Anthem, they’re made by Cosmic Dust. I’m sure you can grab them there after the event too. 🩷

Ok, so I posted on Facebook and Twitter that I was hired into Frank’s Elite Tuesday night after my audition with their Hiring Manager Persia and the owner William – where Persia said I was hired in, added me to their DJ group, told me everything about working there, and sent me a NC telling me to pick what shift I could do… 

And then yesterday – while I was camping – I checked my email and saw missed messages… One was from Rosabella (the communications manager at Frank’s and owner of The Big Apple sim, who I’ve known almost the entire time I’ve been on SL) saying “why are you talking about a place you are applying for a job for on fb, thats a silly move”, a message saying I had a NC from Rosabella called “Luci DJ Application Declined by Frank’s Entertainment Group” and an email saying Persia removed me from the DJ group.

I logged in on Lumiya and read the NC: 

“Hello Luci, My name is Rosabella and I am the Communications Manager for Franks Entertainment Group (FEG).

I am sorry to inform you that your application has been declined with Frank’s Entertainment Group as a DJ at Frank’s Elite.

This is due to a conflicting discussion in the public arena that is confidential while your application to apply is being processed.

Feel free to contact me should you have any queries regarding this decision.

We wish you all the best in the future and thank you for your interest.

First off, I know her name lol I’ve known her 9 months.  Second, I was hired already, how are you going to “decline my application” when you already hired me? That’s called firing someone, not declining an application.  Third, I contacted her with my queries like the NC said to asking her how I ended up fired already and she basically said that she’d already given me all of the information that I needed about what happened.

Persia hasn’t answered me.

I can only assume that they fired me either because of the post I made saying that Country Strong Reborn’s owner didn’t show up to the audition we had scheduled or that I got hired into Franks – not sure which one it was… But geez, this whole trying to find DJ jobs has been a wild ride so far lol

Thankfully I hadn’t paid the 1,000L yet for the group they require you to join to get in there – even if you’re working for them.

I’m so excited about this year’s Pride at Home on Second Life! My friends and I already went a bit too crazy last night, buying up all of the amazing rainbow gear the event has to offer – and we haven’t even made it to the free stuff yet!

There are so many cute things this year – it was stupid hard not to buy everything. And it’s all 99L, which makes it even better.

Not to mention that the money from the sales goes to LBGT+ charities, so you know your money is doing something great.

.random musings.

Geez. So much has happened since I last wrote on here. Don’t worry, though, I’m not going to start recapping what’s happened in the past four months.

Nobody has time for all that.

I’m not going to make this a whole post about how I need to start working on things again either. But I do, I really really do. :’D

I will touch on the Legacy body being on sale right now for 2500 L (all of them, pregnancy, perky, classic, athletic) at the main store and at the Legacy event that’s going on right now. Oh – and the Jake body is just 1500 right now as well – so if you need a new body, not a bad time to go grab one. I bought perky, but I still haven’t messed with it yet – I’m still in love with my Maitreya body, even though so many people are out there are hating on it. I haven’t really noticed any of the issues that everyone complains about (the shoulders or the movement).

I am absolutely loving this new hair I picked up from Kuni weekend sales – usually not super into the shorter styles, but this one is cute. I wore it to the Relay events this weekend – if you haven’t made it out to any of the Relay For Life events in Second Life, I definitely recommend going. They’re always so well put together and it’s for a good cause!

I’ve met some wonderful people on here so far (and a few bad apples, but let’s not focus on that) and I’m excited to continue meeting new people. So, you just need to wait until they’re online to send the request.

I do have the mobile app, so if you message me on FB I can jump on really quickly and accept the request. Otherwise, weekdays I’m usually on after 4pm SLT and weekends I tend to jump on during the day to hang out with my European friends.

.memories, stuff and rambles.

This really has nothing to do with the picture up there. I just like the picture. lol

Well, actually I guess it kind of does. I was looking at the Happy Weekend Sale list and there was a shirt that ties around your waist for 60L, super cute I might add… and it got me thinking about when I first started in Second Life (alll of three months ago haha) and I was so excited to get my first like… “real” clothes. Meaning, not free.

I saw a streamer talking about Blueberry in one of their videos (I think it was Ariellxo) and I decided to go there and check it out. I ended up buying a pair of jeans with a sweatshirt tide around the waist + a tank top – and I thought I was the shit.

Kind of makes me laugh now – since my inventory is jam packed with clothes from Blueberry, Belle Epoque, Beauty Factory, and other places… but at the time it was the coolest thing ever. (Let’s face it though, it’s still super cool.)

So, what does that have to do with the picture up there? Not a ton really, it just illustrates how far I’ve come in three months. It’s been a pretty wild ride already and second life has exceeded any expectations I had when I arrived at its rocky shores… a country girl destined for life in the big city.

Went to a Bayside Mall tour during a Meela Vanderbuilt stream today and it was a lot of fun – not something I can join in on all of the time because it was about three hours long lol but still fun every once in awhile.

Don’t ask me why her dress looked like that for me, it didn’t look like that in her stream… and I’m like super tiny compared to everyone that was there haha… oh well.

I am having a bit of an issue currently – I want to do EVERYTHING all the time and it’s really hard to limit myself to focusing on one or two things. There’s just so much going on all the time, I don’t understand how people can be bored in SL… I know people are like – I’ve been here forever, it gets boring… and I can’t really comment too much on that, because I’m still an SL baby… but to me that’s like saying you get bored irl (which I can’t possibly imagine and I’ve been irl a bit more than 3 months. Just a bit).

THERE’S JUST SO MUCH TO DO. I’m a bit overwhelmed.

Geez, so much has happened, I’m not sure where to start with that – so I won’t yet. lol

I’ve decided to just – do what I do with this blog. Whatever goes.

I know, you’re thinking “WHATTTT an SL blog that’s, like… an actual blog and not just shopping stuffs?! Luci, c’mon, you know that won’t work.”

And you know what? I’m okay with that. The idea of trying to make those fancy pictures that everyone else makes – COMPLETELY OVERWHELMING. Sure, I’d love to figure it out and get all those free goodies, but I have wayyyy too much on my plate right now (update coming soon, I swear haha). Plus it just seems like way too much pressure.

I’m having a good time in SL – tried to be friends with some chick on FB and she went kinda crazy on me, but I guess I was looking for drama anyway so it’s whatevs. But she had seemed cool, so still kind of a bummer.

I did find other awesome people to hang out with – more on them later – but it’s been a lot of fun. Too much fun, actually. I have stuff I need to get done! :’D

I have a couple of awesome interviews lined up for the show (more on that soon) and then I need to get my inventory in my shops before the fashion show at a neighboring shop Nov 18. I’m not anywhere near prepared.

Ok, just writing that is making me nervous already – I need to get my butt in gear. haha.

.spooktacular halloween freebies.

I realize now that I probably should have at least put on a Halloween outfit for this post – I have plenty of them… Not sure what I was thinking there.

Well, we know I’m not much of a fashion blogger already, so I’ll have to go a different route with this blog most likely. :’D

Anyway – the 2021 Halloween Shop and Hop is now open through October 31st. And it is JAM PACKED with Halloween freebie goodies! Every booth has at least one free gift – although sometimes you have to hunt around a bit to find them. It’s not much of an issue though, since the stores have put in a ton of effort to bring us fun products and creatively spooktacular booths. It took me forever to get through everything – and then when I finished… I realized there was a whole section I somehow missed. lol

Also, I managed to find myself stuck in walls a few times (in true Luci fashion) and even in a random decorative pool thingy that had a blood waterfall…

I just want to mention again – the Junk Food booth – nobody seems to realize that if you go up to the doors, there’s goodies at each house! Make sure you don’t miss out on that – I didn’t realize it the first time I went through, but I saw someone mention it in chat and went back around.

I’m so glad I did, too.

This event is incredibly fun, especially for a noob like myself, but make sure you block out a good amount of time to get through everything. Also, it’s a good idea to have some sort of organizational strategy if you want to make sure you don’t miss out on anything.

I should really learn to take my own advice.

.exposed & alone – my humble beginnings in sl.

As many of you know, I recently moved to Second Life, hoping for a new start…

I come from a humble upbringing, but I’ve always been told how beautiful I am and how I should be an actress. Well, I finally decided a few weeks ago that I would pack everything up and take the chance – it’s now or never right?

Arriving in Second Life I quickly realized that I’m just another fish in a sea of pretty faces – I mean everyone here is flickin’ gorgeous. Perfect eyes, perfect hair, perfect noses, perfect breas- well you get the drift here. I’m seeing now that my journey to become famous is going to be much harder than I originally anticipated. Sure, I’m being flooded with free clothes and accessories, just for being so attractive, but finding a roof over my head has been difficult – and finding a job to pay for that roof over my head has been next to impossible. I don’t want to strip and I don’t want to be an escort, I don’t have set hours I can work and I don’t have a whole lot of skills to offer. You can see how this isn’t working out too well, right?

Anyway, I’m just trying to survive on the streets here in Second Life and, as much as I love my massive new wardrobe, it’s not going to protect me from the elements. So, I did what most people on here think is a big no-no and I turned to squatting.

Well, last night I got caught. Truthfully, the lady that caught me seemed pretty cool – I was really hoping she would offer to lend me some of her 13k prims she wasn’t using and we would become instant BFFs and – having this HILARIOUS story to share at parties someday… but no. She was pissed and banned me from the property.

I deserved that… Although I think it would have been a lot more fun for everyone involved if she would have gone with my preferred version of events.

Let that be a lesson to all of you out there – you don’t make friends squatting. My new and now former BFF actually literally told me that as we were chatting in the fully furnished kitchen I had rezzed on her property.

At least I’ll always have those good memories of her – even if we are no more.

Have a good one – I’ll be over here freezing my ass off, exposed to the rain wind and snow – but I have my big dreams to keep me warm at night…

.the monarchy’s west world party.

So, I don’t know if I wasn’t planning on doing a blog post on this or what – but I literally only took a picture of Meela driving a few of us to the mall to wait for the party to start. :’D

Not sure what I was thinking.

The party was fantastic – incredibly visually appealing, the girls were beautiful (the Monarchy is a strip club in Bayside – I’ll provide the SLURL at the end of the post) and super friendly – and the place was PACKED! The DJ was very amusing, he played some great songs – including some incredibly cheeky country music that I found amusing… Overall it was a really good time.

I really wish I had thought to take pictures lol and the picture I DID take was a COMPUTER SCREENSHOT – not even a picture taken in SL. haha. Wow. I’m such a noob.

Anyway, it was so cool – was so fun watching Meela on stream get ready and then getting to go to the party myself. Definitely something I’ll try to do again.
